The context

A profession where mistakes are not allowed

The European Islamic Funeral Services (PFIE) support Muslim families in Belgium 24/7. Repatriation, ritual washing, funeral chamber, monument… complex dossiers handled under emotional pressure. Everything used to be on paper — a huge risk in a profession where any mistake is catastrophic for already grieving families.

Concretely, here is what made the work impossible before we stepped in — without ever losing sight of the dignity of the profession.

Everything on paper

Funeral dossiers handwritten, stored in cabinets. Frequent mix-ups, lost information. Unacceptable in a sensitive profession.

Highly complex funeral quotes

Repatriation, ritual washing, monument, refrigerated bed, transport… dozens of options recomputed by hand for every family.

Scattered admin documents

Municipal mandate FR, municipal mandate NL, death declaration, T&Cs — each in its own folder, never centralised.

Salat al-Janazah not communicated

Families and worshippers had to call to know the time of the funeral prayer. No public channel, no organised broadcast.

No on-site intake tool

When a grieving family arrived, the agent took notes on paper then re-entered them later — wasted time and risk of error.

Unprofessional website

Existing site not responsive, hardly reassuring, poorly ranked. Yet first impression is crucial in this profession.

Tablet POS app for intake
